vera wabegijig is a nishnaabe interdisciplinary artist who loves to work with words in english and anishnaabemowin while assimilating pictures, audio, video, and also more tactile objects like beads, paint, birchbark, and, porcupine quills into her projects. many projects have been inspired while walking along the gchi ziibii/kitchisippi/ottawa river/(______). like many, aki/the land, continues to inspire her, so, she frequents the bike paths near her community often, if not daily.

vera and her family have been long time visiters living on unceded and unsurrendered algonquin anishnaabeg akiing (ottawa, ontario). originally from mississauga first nation (robinson huron treaty) through her odawa/ojibwe mother. she also acknowledges her odawa/ojibwe father’s community, wiikwemkoong unceded territory as also being home.
